Comments Thread For: Hector Garcia Outworks Roger Gutierrez To Capture WBA Title With Unanimous Decision

HOLLYWOOD, Florida - Hector Luis Garcia has gone from an unknown, unproven fighter to a world champion in less than six months. The Dominican southpaw patiently but effectively dominated Roger Gutierrez to win the WBA super featherweight title by unanimous decision Saturday night at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. The unbeaten Garcia regularly caught Gutierrez with left hands and right hooks

Fixed fight. Gutierrez literally sold his belt out. He didn't even really try to do anything until what 10th round? In the last three rounds he actually started to attack Garcia and Garcia didn't look anything like last 10 rounds he looked. I bet Gutierrez did this on purpose in exchange for more money.

Anytime Queef Thurman opens his mouth it's pure cringe. I think that he knows it and is trying to embrace it.

These shows are fixed. They steal from naive gamblers. Honestly, GoldenBoy has the least crooked scorecards and even they have their obvious fixes. It’s a show.

Have you seen Roger Guttierrez fight before? He was one of the weaker champions in the sport.

I've seen Roger Gutierrez fight before. I know he isn't a technician there. But he was losing the first 10 rounds clear as day and there was no urgency from Gutierrez. It almost looked like he didn't give a damn. After 10 rounds of beating he finally started what he supposed to do. I wonder if it was Hector Garcia's superb boxing skills or something else.
