Comments Thread For: Teofimo Lopez: Failure Is My Best Friend, The Experience I Needed To Grow

Teofimo Lopez Jr. had a slightly different plan for his full-blown introduction to the 140-pound division. Once upon a time, the goal was to parlay his lineal and unified lightweight championship title reign into a shot at the undisputed crown at junior welterweight. That dream was on the vision board following his 2020 Fighter of the Year campaign that saw him dethrone Vasiliy Lomachenko to unify the lineal/WBA/IBF/WBO lightweight titles.

He's just admitted failure? Well done Teo. You needed to see that to make improvements and progress. Maybe there's hope for this kid after all.

Teo is one of the few young guns put in with guys that actually fight back. All he has to do is learn and he can develop into an excellent fighter.

In order to mentally move forward he has to accept that he was defeated even if it was a medical conditions. He will learn what not to do and more drive to improve.

Being in denial is lying to yourself.

Teo goes beyond hype and self promotion, Teo has character flaws. He's disconnected from from reality and that's not fixable.

If failure is your best friend, and I stress IF to the 10th power, you sure didn't act like it.
Your words, and your actions were those of someone who wanted to get far away from your best friend FAILURE!
You have become a pathological liar simply because you can't keep your mouth shut, and your failure to accept the truth.
No one can believe the hysterical comments that you, or your father make there appears to be some psychological issue going on with the both of you.
This isn't just plain old bragging, conceit, or self belief, this is something that is concerning not only to hear, but also to watch.
This latest statement that you need to fail in order to grow, is nothing short of propaganda, because you haven't learned one single solitary positive thing from the loss.
You, and your dad both lack the emotional intelligence to express yourselves, in a professional, adult, normal or common sense manner.

His father has been in his ear and is still in his ear. He tells him how great he is and once he saw he can do it in the ring like daddy said it went to his head. He is delusional but maybe like other fighters that is where his strength comes from.

But in order to grow mentally he has to accept defeats.

Exactly! He should seek professional help before he gets himself into some serious physical, or legal problem's, that goes double for his lunatic dad.

The best thing u can do to grow is stay off social media. Ur talking and engaging too much. Stop taking ur mind elsewhere and dedicate your self to boxing 100%. Your glitch is mainly mental. Your career and your prime comes and goes so fast, so stay locked in and don't lose that focus... If it ain't about boxing, it's about bs
