Crawford vs Spence is absolutely a co A side fight. Malignaggi was embarrassed that a boxing fan had to correct him on the realities of boxing business. Malignaggi went silent and did not try to dispute the co A side assertion.
A-side is determined by who is the bigger draw not by P4P rankings. That's why Arturo Gatti was A-side against Floyd Mayweather.

And as we all know Crawford doesn't sell on PPV and his old promoter even said he was losing money on his fights.

Haymon knows the outcome of every pbc in house set up. That's why never bothers to sit live at ringside at his pbc shows anymore, he knows who will win. The only way Haymon would set up duck davis for thurman is if thurman would agree to throw the fight. because at this point thurman is a zero draw pawn for haymon while duck davis is still being groomed to be a long term money maker franchise.

Remember, every pbc in house set up fight is set up for one fighter to win, the one with more business value and earning power potential. EVERY SINGLE PBC FIGHT is a set up. That's why Haymon never bothers to go to see his live fights, he's bored by it all, he's all about the money, future revenues and hustling your wallet.

Haymon had Thurman moved to #1 WBC ranking, mando, or however you want to coin it. That's not a mistake. I'm willing to bet Thurman finds his way in the ring with Spence before Stanionis "The Step-A-Side King". Regardless of what thinks, Spence will take a pounding in a mandatory clash with Ennis or Ortiz vs a washed-out Thurman who was getting touched up and walked down by a 135 fighter. You can't even get Thurman to fight Stanionis.

Aren’t you describing quite a lot of in-house fights, though?

Only major one that didn’t go according to according to plan recently is Bivol v. Canelo, and Hearn looked like someone had nicked his sandwich afterwards

Are we sure Hearn does not have a piece of Bivol? Or if he's a silent partner in Bivol?

Oh, he promotes Bivol, so ofc he has a piece of him, but it appeared to most observers to be in his best interests to keep Canelo winning.

Unless Hearn’s an astonishingly talented actor, it was hard to read anything in his face other than “everything’s ****ed” post-fight. Just looked like Bivol didn’t get the ‘memo’ *wink* *wink*

Canelo is a huge draw win or lose, now he has another draw in Bivol. Before this win Bivol was a non draw. See how that works? Now Hearn has TWO big fights to promote next, now that Bivol is a new star, GGG vs Canelo and Bivol vs TBA. Understand??? It's pretty simple Hearn won by Canelo losing.

Do you reckon? I doubt many people know who Bivol are still, and Canelo won’t stay a huge draw if he racks up several losses.

The whole point on Bivol ruining his plans is that Canelo was supposed to lay out DAZN’s next financial year by beating Bivol, thus setting the ground for a massive fight with Golovkin, but then a huge super-unification up at LHW with Berbetiev.

DAZN had made statements putting Hearn under pressure beforehand, by remarking on the state of their commercial activities, and the Canelo loss didn’t help
