Comments Thread For: Golovkin: Canelo's Behavior at Presser Showed How Insecure He Is

Canelo Alvarez says it's personal. According to Gennadiy Golovkin, it's just another day in the office. The two rivals will collide on September 17th, in a trilogy fight, at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Canelo is the not the best, he skills are below those of Crwaford, Usyk, and Lomachenko. The difference is that everyone is willing to fight Canelo because of the pay day, and not Crawford or Loma. Canelo is able to get anyone in the ring to have a decent record.

He’s still a top fighter but, those guys you mention are next level.

The biggest difference is the footwork: Canelo’s quite square-stanced, though he gets a pass on this because he goes for the left hook body shot so often from this position.

Less remarked upon is the ring IQ. It took Canelo a whole fight to adjust to Triple G, 8 rounds to adjust to Billy Joe Saunders’ constant ducking, and he didn’t have any answers for Bivol at all.

By contrast, you can see the 3 you mentioned solving ring conundrums in real-time, and it doesn’t take them very long. Even Loma, when he was up against it vs. Teo having just come back from surgery, managed to figure his distances out and step on the gas at the end of that fight.

Yo, Triple b!tch might well be right about this apparent insecurity, but Canelo had just faced his own personal GARBAGE DAY in a beat down not long before, so it’s obviously gonna manifest in weirdo behaviour.

I still rate him, even though I’m siding with Golovkin.

Saul "Canelo" Alvarez changed in between interviews because DAZN demanded the
attitude change to protect their public brand image. Canelo is a quick study protecting
his future paychecks with way to many zeros.

            Lol are you serious?

Crawford gets hurt and dropped by bums

Loma gets schooled by 21 yr Olds

Usyk fights in the least skilled division in the sport.

Learn boxing kid canelo is head and shoulders above all those hype jobs.

I respect Canelo as a fighter, but Ive never liked him. He has an enormous ego and doesnt like criticism. Too many yes people in his circle has made him an entitled, pampered fighter. He seems to have an advantage with every judge. GGG was the champion and had him running in 1st fight but still got a draw. Adelaide Bird the incompetent judge couldnt get gingers nuts out of her mouth to watch the fight. Bivol schooled him and still only won by a round. And then his post fight comments are always delusional thinking that hes won when clearly he has lost.

One huge problem with this fight - GGG likely has not learned how to knock out Canelo so the only real way he can win is to totally spank him. Forget about what happened in their first outing, just look at how close the Bivol fight actually was on the cards. It was NOT that close. Canelo wins rounds he should not win, and I don’t think anyone with eyes and a brain can argue that. His punches have the appearance of being pretty and effective and that will sway most people.
I like this fight and am cool with any way it goes, as long as both fighters get a fair shake.
