This fight will go 12 rounds and Parker wins the decision, most likely. Parker is not some washed up 40 old dude like the most of Joyce`s opponents.

I can see Joyce eating punches all night, but he will have a hard time to land big shots on Parker.

Joyce ,Hrgovic,and DDD are the big 3 current top giants outside of A.J and Fury .

Parker isn’t considered a top big unit and his punching power has taken a step back in the last few years as well .

There’s really nothing to suggest he’s going to win this fight I’d take all 3 to beat him mentioned . I see the 6”6 260 or so Joyce bullying Parker wheather it’s sooner or later in this one . Few fighters can handle Joyce , Parker doesn’t come to mind maybe he can keep his ground and stay with Joyce fir 12 but I see this as a one way street mostly,I can see this 8/4 or 9/3 to Joyce .

Good chance he stops Parker as well we’ve seen both guys get hurt early but odds Parker landing a surprise body shot is slim ,I can see Joyce pummel him late and stop Parker .

I think a lot of people miss the small things that Joyce does and don’t really appreciate his skills. On the face of things he is slow but his other attributes so far have always made up for that and usually stop his opponent.

Essentially he’s prepared to take one, even two on the way in and throws punches in bunches. He’ll often miss the first shots but land the second or third. He may be slow but timing beats speed. He banks on his punch landing doing more damage than the one or two lighter shots his opponent might land trying to stop him. So far that gamble has worked. You’d probably see him fight differently with a taller fighter - this gamble works better if the other guy is punching up which they usually are. Less leverage on their punches more on his. Smart guy.

Secondly if you watch him carefully although he does take clean shots he does also manage to ride a fair few of them. That does mean more damage than he needs to take perhaps but he trusts this ability and again so far this technique has worked. It’s a trade off, ride punches and conserve energy, avoid them and tire quicker. If you’re big and relatively slow, riding punches makes more sense. He also saves energy doing this and this plays into his stamina - he’s absolutely unmatched by anyone bar perhaps Usyk in that department.

And yes you could argue these tactics will only get him so far. I’d argue that he’s fought and sparred the likes of Usyk, Joshua and been in camps with Parker. He’s a very smart guy, articulate, plays chess etc. His tactics against Dubois couldn’t have been better and he utterly dismantled him. His ring smarts and versatility again underrated and i think a lot of fans watch but don’t see.

My money is on Joyce wearing down little Joe inside the distance.

Am alarming statistic is Parker actually has no wins by stoppage vs top level guys .

Parker has zero wins by knockout under Lee in just 2 fights there is no reasoning to say he’s improved power ,clearly his boxing has though even against a more stationary Chisora one could see it .


Joyce can stay in first gear and still win this one . Parker cannot win by running away for 12 rounds ,the only way you defeat Joyce is by hurting him at least enough to keep him at bay or have a long enough reach to box from safe distance, Parker is the smaller man with less effective jab that won’t happen either .

Parker’s only edge like everyone basically is speed , DDD would still be more problematic fir Joyce . To put it blunt Parker’s to small to give him the edge here and that’s because he’s shown very little when fighting big fighters ,it’s obvious watching the Cojanu and Fa fights he’s in over his head in this one and even against 6”6 Hughie couldn’t do much when able to apply pressure.

It would be a very big upset if Parker wins , Joyce is a legit top 5 guy .
