Mahkmudov is still doing himself no favors fighting in Canada , these guys wonder why their profile never grows well, get out of Canada you aren’t getting much exposure for a highly ranked contender so you’ll struggle to land big fights . Eye of the Tiger stationary promotion will get him no where fast if he’s looking for the big names ,I don’t even think the last one was televised in the states ?

Takams a good fight but are we going to see it ?

Takam can give Makhmudov some rounds, but that is it. He is hardly even gatekeeper level.

I know promoters love and need to indulge in hyperbole, but while they are genuinely being avoided/not talked about, in 2-3 fights, or ideally sooner, this group of heavyweights with amateur pedigree - Hrgovic, Jalolov, Kossobutskiy and now Makhmudov - are going to have to fight each other to get title shots. More than that, it'd get them some decent brand recognition, which is even more crucial for them in particular not being natural house fighters. I hope they each back themselves and do it, because we'll get some brilliant shootouts in the process.

same old story, they have to soften each other first just like Stanionis-Butaev, Beterbiev-Gwozdyk or Usyk in some of his fights, even Golovkin-Derevyanchenko, to be recognized and get a shot at the "champion" and a million dollar fight, those guys going through the wars are never the same afterwards

I know it's not ideal, but I genuinely can't see much of an alternative - the million dollar fights you describe that drive professional boxing are driven by public interest, and without that boxing's much like any other martial art. And in case you're thinking I have some anti-Soviet bloc stuff going on, I would have counted Yoka as part of that group before his last fight.

At least Makhmudov will get some incoming from Takam, unlike most of his previous fights.
Takam may survive to mid rounds... but IMO can't give him much chance past then.
