Comments Thread For: Oleksandr Usyk Can Make His Case For Fury: August Preview

Boxing was off to a hot start through the first six months. Summer has been a bit of winter for the game. July was a bit slow and August isn't much better but it won't be without its charms. Circle August 20. It's a loaded date on the calendar with big cards on Showtime, ESPN, and DAZN. DAZN will have the biggest show of them all with:

Is Usyk the one with the skill set and smarts to solve the massive combination of skill and size Fury possesses?

I think it's only fair to also ask the following questions: Can Olekandr overcome incompetent corrupt officials, Tyson's PED abuse and illegal-tactics. But yeah, ''Skills doe''.

I'd put a bit of money on Usyk, provided he's in the right frame of mind, with all the Ukraine chaos going on.

There's no doubt he's already in good shape. The eastern European guys like Usyk, Bivol and Beterbiev are always in tip top shape.

Tyson has absolutely nothing to prove , Uysk would be hammered buy the 3 stone plus heavier fighter with his long levers , boxing IQ and lean on weight.Joshua being blasted out by a little fat guy and a convincing loss to the little but good Usyk doesn't even come in to the equation. Joshua has got to KO little Usyk for a fight with the much better and bigger Tyson Fury and if Wilder can't nail the big lad then it's doubtful a gun-shy Joshua can.

Usyk did a 'Ward move on Wilder and fought into his power. Delusion is strong if people think Hill doesn't come up with a plan for Usyk. The question is Fury's motivation. We are talking about a trilogy with AJ worth over 300 million bc 2 fights before Usyk were worth 200 million vs. a fight in the family diner parking lot with Usyk. It's still prizefighting. Amazing how AJ affects the payscale of the division.

No way Usyk dominates the HW division. He'll have hell against a hungry Joshua later this month and in the unlikely event that he wins, Usyk absolutely won't beat Fury.

"Make his case for Fury?"... he would be the best, most accomplished fighter, on his Fury's resume if they fought RIGHT NOW.

The real boxing fans are not going to let Fury off the hook and let him retire without fighting either Usyk or Joshua. If he does, he's a fraud with a thin resume that only includes a 40-year-old Klitschko (who Joshua KOed) and an unranked P4P fighter in Wilder that took Fury 3 fights to end the rivalry.
