Comments Thread For: Mares On Return From Second Detached Retina: I Want To Go Out On My Own Terms

By Keith Idec - The two independent retina specialists that the California State Athletic Commission chose weren't the only ones Abner Mares needed to convince that he should return to boxing.

I don't blame Abner Mares for going out on his own terms, but I would warn him to ban Jack Reiss from officiating any of Abner's remaining contest.

We all know that Reiss screwed Mares vs. Johnny Gonzalez ( early in the fight ): but where was Reiss concern for the 'Gypsy-Bum' Tyson Fury lifeless body vs. the hardest puncher of all time, Deontay Wilder, in the 12? Jack, told Abner Mares that his eyes reflected a concussion, but what about Tyson's eyeballs rolling around in the back of his skull?

Past it blind in one eye Mares was the initial cherry for Tanks ppv debut…would have more of a huge mismatch than Lsc. Sad thing is if Mares looks half decent against Flores, Floyd/Haymon will have him in there with Tank next.

Mares should stay away. Long layoff, eyes problems, older age, really doesn't punch that hard, etc. He luck out when they got rid of Paulie and he got a good gig going.

These guys like the attention they get and feeling good in the gym doesn't always translate into a professional fight at a high level.

Does this mean you are back on the Wilder's sack?Reiss saved Mares because there was no recovery from those shots from Gonzalez. Mares was destroyed everyone knows that. Reiss a professional unlike you let Fury continue and Fury beat Wilder down the rest of the round. He also stated throughout the first Fury fight neither man was taking much damge which is true because Fury was boxing content with winning the fight with better ability and Wilder was missing all night. Rather take his word over an exposed liar with no integrity like yourself. Stay angry you ****** loser.

What an idiot, go blind. The upside we won't have to hear the worst member the Showtime broadcast team has ever had.

100% correct, sad s**t these guys willing to do. It certainly doesn't raise Porky's profile just a somewhat recognizable name for the padded resume. As Floyd said they are not interested in big names, just house fighters. Which is why their boy is a certified PPV flop.

First of all, I'm on the side of truth. I had to highlight how this criminal lowlife Jack Reiss has destroyed careers ; Abner Mares being one of them.

Everything you said in Jack Reiss defense is a bunch of crap. Tyson was given a subriety-test and allowed to recover by that scumbag Reiss, then shortly after Deontay nailed him with a vicious right hand, had he not fallen into Fury he ( Wilder ) would have finished the 'Gypsy-Bum'. The only meaningful blow Tyson landed in the final round was an illegal palm strike -- which he Jack Reiss allowed Tyson to get away with the whole fight!

You talk about neither man took much damage? Tyson was already been put down in the ninth. Regardless of that, most experts have agreed that the majority of officials would have waved off the fight ; even the English commentating crew from BTSPORT thought it was over -- hell, even 'Gypsy-John' is on record saying he would of thrown in the towel.

But yeah johnnyc69, you need to mind your business and stick to the topic.

Man, unfortunately own terms might be being blind.... Mares should stick to commentary on fights, that would lead to a better future.
