watching the fight last night, Floyd put on a masterclass of defensive skill, yet he has very little offense, Floyd completely `shut-out` Marquez yet for all of his brilliant skills he could not mount a single attack to finish off an aged and limited opponent who posed `no threat`against his brilliant defensive skills.. i was impressed with Floyd and think he is going to be very very difficult to defeat, yet the fact is that he is very limited when it comes to aggression, Floyds offensive is a single well timed counter punch and he is clueless on how to follow up on a hurt opponent.. How do you beat Floyd? i dont know but unless he invents an offense he does not deserve to be P4P No1 last night was just another Floyd v Baldomir, Floyd v Judah, Floyd v DeLahoya, Floyd v Corley kinda fight which i call "a snoozer"
Floyd defensive master with little offense

It was good performance against an average opponent. But i also noticed that he only used 3 punches which were: left hook, jab and straight right.
It worked against JMM because he was no match and Floyd's reflexes prevailed. Against a better fighter i don't know if he could get away with that.
Having said that, Mayweather looked like he had never been away from the ring and it will take someone special to beat him.Comment

Watching him slap about a Featherweight and take no chances to get him out of thereComment

Thats him all over, he has no offence and the offence he does have is set up by defence.Comment

i agree with the comments made so far but Floyd is not a `value-4-money` fighter what i mean by that is, he does not excite the paying viewer, its the same old `snoozer`and i for one do not want to see him fight Pacquiao next because he will have proven nothing by beating a former Light-Flyweight and a former Featherweight in Marquez.. Floyd needs to fight Mosley whom i favour him to beat, and then take on the Pacquiao/Cotto winner.. Mosley even at his advanced age would pose more of a threat than JMM did.. i was impressed by Floyd last night yet at the same time rather disappointed with JMM performanceComment

I disagree, Whitaker was a lot more aggressive than Floyd and would actually step on the gas when he was winning the fight. Hopkins is the only one comparable to Floyd from that point of view and he is 40+ years old so i expect a ****ty punch output from him.Comment
