Where have i shitted on this? I haven’t made any comments about this fight before finding out it was canceled.

I understand this fight. What I don’t understand is why anyone on this site- allegedly diehard real fans- cares about it.

      Can you explain why?

It doesn’t bother me. As a diehard, longtime fan, I don’t appreciate when SHO uses resources and air time for “celebrity” boxing since it is now the primary cable boxing channel.

showtime is in the business of making $ and being profitable. Trust me, if Jake wasn’t bringing in $$, showtime would not be in business with him.

as a die hard fan, of course I rather see other big time fights, but that doesn’t mean Im against everything else. I’m curious to see how a YouTuber does against an actual professional boxer. Not cuz I think boxing needs this fight, just for the entertainment aspect of the event. Not to mention you guys have like Brandun Lee on the undercard. He would never have these amount of attn on any of his fights without Jake being part of the card.
Damn Wicked Damn Wicked Fact Fact like this.

The problem is simple. We see how SHOWTIME will dole out it's resources for this garbage and yes, it's GARBAGE. I'm not making a leap by any means saying that either.

Just because something is popular, earns dollars doesn't mean that justifies it. I see this like this. This group/site is for hardcore boxing fans. The fans that Paul attracts barely know weight classes. Back to what I was saying initially about SHOWTIME. I get it this pulls in a lot of casuals. But it's funny how the UFC for example can develop guys, get them known (sharing their back stories, development, training, etc) but SHOWTIME who is a part of CBS won't go to those lengths.

But will do it wiith their "24/7" (I know thats HBO) or whatever it's called for Paul and whomever he fights. All Im saying is do the same with some boxers on a lesser scale (obviously)

We all get that. I have made that dame point when he got signed.

I was never against it. Again, I didn’t comment until it was cancelled.

I’m not interested in Jake Paul fighting at all. That is why I don’t comment much. Note in my only comment I was upset foe the pros on the undercard who would benefit from the exposure.

I just think “celebrity” boxing is better for the internet where most of its fans are and cable TV is better for diehard fans where the majority of fans go.

I just also wish the resources used on Jake would be dedicated to building a stronger platform for the sport.

A lot of people cared about the Danny Garcia-Jose Benavidez fight - and ended up wasting an hour of their lives they will never get back. Same with Haney-Kambosos. They are “real boxers” who were in garbage fights, and those are just two recent examples. Meanwhile, you have a million more “real boxers” who don’t seem to realize that part of being “real boxers” means actually getting in a ring and boxing.

That’s the reality of boxing today - so why are you getting upset about people wanting to see a so-called “fake fighter” like Jake Paul who actually wants to hold fights? Who actually seems to be excited about boxing, while diva “real boxers” like Bud “Mumbles” Crawford, Chris Eubank Jr., etc. sit on the sidelines waiting to be grossly overpaid before they can be bothered to lace up the gloves?

              Lighten up!

Not sure of the point youre making. Yes, pro fights are not always great. Imo a lackluster pro fight doesn’t damage the sport.

Where did I post that was what I was upset about?

I am frustrated that resources are used to promote and air a fight like this by SHO because they are the top boxing network now. I would prefer resources be used to highlight prospects or lower weight pros.

Fans are excited about celebrity boxing because the individuals fighting are celebrities. I like the technical aspects of the sport as much as individual names. I would the majority of posters feel similarly.

I also don’t know how much casual fans are being drawn to the actual sport.

Yes, it would be better if top pros fought more frequently. I think the sport is better served by filling that void with prospect fights and lower weight pros than celebrity fights.

I don’t know why i need to lighten up. I haven’t been overly or unfairly critical of this.

I don’t agree with you, but you’re obviously genuinely passionate about boxing and I respect that!

Cool. I just hate to see Jake Paul take days and resources away from top pros.

I will admit he is helping the sport on his undercards

Still baffles me why Jake couldn’t just find a guy that’s at LHW Or CW, he wouldn’t of had to worry about the opponent making weight and would have a fight this weekend.

instead he’s pulled this trick and now Rahman is trying to stretch this whole thing as far as he can. He ain’t used to the attention and limelight.

got Tommy fury to thank for this BS yet a freaking again. That man needs to retire from boxing and stick to posting on TikTok and whatever else mollie wants him doing.
