Comments Thread For: WBC Orders Jose Zepeda-Regis Prograis Vacant 140-Pound Title Fight; Jose Ramirez Aims To Face Winner

Jose Zepeda now has a new rival and deadline for which to negotiate terms for the vacant WBC junior welterweight title. BoxingScene.com has confirmed that the WBC has instructed Zepeda to now enter talks with Regis Prograis to vie for their 140-pound title. The fight was formally ordered on Sunday by the Mexico City-headquartered sanctioning body, with the two sides given until August 30 to come to an agreement and avoid a purse bid hearing.

Zepeda versus Prograis is going to be a great fight, between two of the top ten fighters in the 140 pound division.
I've got Zepeda winning this one in a hotly contested fight between these top tier fighters, may the best man win.

Prograis vs. Ramirez was always the fight to be made.

Ramirez should be still be undefeated.

Not only does he not get a no contest for the knockdown after the ref broke him and Taylor up, but it counts against him and he's forced to fight on.

Ramirez got screwed by Bayless that fight. That fight should have been a no contest. But that's what he gets for signing with TopRank. He thinks he's too good for GoldenBoy, he gets what he gets.

This is one hell of a matchup. Both guys have been deserving of title shots.

Very good fight. Prograis should be in the world title mix not in limbo fighting the Tyrone mckennas of the world. Too good for that
