Comments Thread For: Hearn on Haney-Kambosos Rematch: The Fight Is Not Appealing Because of The First Fight
Eddie Hearn isn't entirely sanguine on the economic potential of the undisputed lightweight rematch between Devin Haney and George Kambosos.

This is yet another reason why boxing needs some sort of oversight. Aside from controlling the corruption, forcing a rematch clause to this degree in favor of a fighter who got dominated and also forcing Haney into contract with top rank and dibella ent just to get a title shot is pathetic.
The first fight was so boring and not even close that it doesn't merit a rematch. It is a business and Haney did sign the rematch clause so it has to be honored, plus Kambosos doesn't really have no where else to go to get paid. The only thing George would have is a rematch against Lopez at 140 and there is no guarantee he will get it.
I blame Haney. the problem here is the rematch in the same country. no way in hell should Haney's team have agreed to that ****. The rematch needs to be in the United States. This fight needs a step aside fee quick so Haney vs Davis can happen

I blame Arum! He negotiated that contract, and it was totally in Kambo's favor, as if Haney didn't sign a 2-fight deal with Top Rank!

Even if kambosos took a step aside. Haney vs Tank wouldn't be next.
Haney fights on espn for 2 more fights. Floyd ain't letting tank fight on espn.
So no fight until Haney finishes his top rank contract.
