so andrade is offering eubank a mil to fight at the O2? let that sink in. that's like me offering calzaghe a mil to fight in cardiff. andrade last fought in a local civic center in NH. the undercard sold whatever tickets that got sold and it was still half empty. andrade can't sell two tickets in his back yard. andrade doesn't have 2 cents to offer anybody. it's eubank and the promoter who would fill the O2. andrade is not offering anything. he's begging.
it's not about luck finding opponents. andrade had contracts in front of him to fight mell and lara at 154 and he flaked out. he was asked a million times why he didn't want top fight jacobs at 160 and had all these excuses. jacobs has fought top level guys and if there was a decent contract to fight andrade for a 160 title, under the same promoter, he would have taken it. it was andrade that didn't want it. andrade had saunders signed and willing to fight him in his back yard. neither the wbo nor vada deny that saunders took over the counter cold stuff that, going by wada, usada, and ukad, is not banned outside of day of competition, because it doesn't affect the fight at all. because they had a vada contract to do testing, and that cold stuff is on the wada list, vada was willing to scrap a title fight, despite wada policy that it is a non-issue outside of the day of competition. saunders was clear of it in a subsequent test anyway. if andrade went to his local commission, and just said the commission rules call for usada, which along with ukad is under wada, and this stuff has no effect on the fight, and vada is just a contractual issue, the world would have said andrade is an honorable man who wants to be a real champion, win or lose. instead he fought... WHO?!?! he also signed with roc nation when he was still under contract with valenti, i think.
stop saying andrade is unlucky.
stop saying andrade is ducked.
he has had many opportunities to prove himself in big fights for more than his market value.
he flaked out on them all and has no supporters.
he's not unlucky.
he's not ducked.
he has a character issue that has kept him out of big fights.
he hasn't looked great against the few legit top 10 fighters he has faced.
if he vacates that title to avoid janibek, he will get offers from nobody.
belts don't make the champ.
he may as well be wearing a mcdojo black belt.
without a promoter, the janibek mandatory will go to purse bid and may wind up in astana arena.
