Good column. Yes indeed, I think De La Hoya was certainly better than Cotto, but the latter was a fine fighter.

Sex before fights, probably should abstain, although for some it probably doesn't make a difference. But 'ey, as Mickey said in Rocky, women weaken legs haha.

Agreed, Breadman makes a real effort....He responded to one of my emails recently, which was nice.

I know he is picking TC, but I just think Errol is going to steamroll him.

Either that, or just be picked apart by Terrence.

This has been a great year for boxing.

I'll agree Tank has a slight advantage over Garcia, mainly due to experience, so I'll agree on those percentages bread put forth. But they both need this fight equally, I would argue Tank needs it more, Garcia has been a pro since 2016 and is only 23, which is on par of taking steps up in your boxing career, Tank is 27 going on 28 and has no relevant fights so far and like bread said, only one real title. So I think the argument can be made that Tank needs it more so he can have some big fights under his belt, if not Garcia, then Tank should be looking at Haney, Loma, Stevenson ect ect, I mean at this stage of Tank's career those are the fights that should be on the menu. Garcia is seeking those fights and is still young enough to fight a couple of high rated contenders and eventually get a shot, he wants it now, so let's make it happen.

Back in the day, boxing matches between soldiers, Marines, sailors and airmen from different companies, battalions, squadrons, etc were called "smokers". We had to legit train and get ready - they don't show up on records but I claim undefeated status (wink). That's old school - military doesn't do that anymore.

Good technical answers from Bread this week, and not too many mythical match-up questions.

I was thinking the same thing except, for Bud to pick Spence apart, he’d have to fight a perfect fight for 12 rounds.
That’s easy against anyone not named Spence. This fight will be decided on the later rounds … once it gets to the 8th, we’ll be witnessing a great fighter pull out a win from a hellacious dog fight. I’m rolling with Spence for a UD

I like reading Breads articles but what amazes me is how with his inside knowledge of the game he can talk about comparing Cotto Oscar in referencing to their Manny fights and not mention weight, God Dam Oscar was a dehydrated totally drained waif, that fact changes everything in a comparison test.
