Chris John Holds On To Win Decision Over Juarez

At the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, WBA featherweight champion Chris John (43-0-1, 22KOs) won a twelve round decision over Rocky Juarez (28-5-1, 20KOs) to retain his title. The scores were 114-113, 119-109 and 117-111. [details]

Great job by John he won the fight more decisively than his first fight with Juarez. Him getting buzzed by Juarez and his lack of power makes me think he should stay at FW and not move up like the commentary talked about him possibly doing.

About the Gatti short, From the ring blog:

-"It was a very tough fight," John said. "In the last round, I was hurt. My eye was really swelling up. I kept on fighting because of my idol Arturo Gatti. That's what kept me going."-

As usual, Rocky did a bit too little, too late. For all 12 rounds save the last 30 seconds John showed him how to box. What a round that last one was though. Like the last fight, John fade late, and when it happened he almost pay the price. He should really work on his stamina.
