Where did you hear that? Garcia only sold out half the venue in last weekend’s fight and the tickets were as low as $26

But at the same time I'd say, if these two are as popular as they are claimed to be, would it not be worth looking towards doing a stadium show maybe next year if it's worth it in the long run? And surely in America there's a facility to accommodate higher numbers and had a retractable roof for all weathers. Then they can drum up better business. Because their people claim they're mega stars. Two good fanbases and two networks pushing the promotion should be able to drive the gate up if they're truly popular. Also my bit about Taylor says a lot, as he is fighting in an arenas and he can do those numbers regularly. And from such a small country. Their still popular fighters, but their not stars yet it seems.
It’s difficult for the British to understand just how far down the ladder boxing is nowadays in terms of popularity. It isn’t even reported on network sports newscasts. It takes a backseat to football, basketball, baseball, hockey, college football/basketball, tennis, golf, etc. Even figure skating pulls more numbers than boxing. In terms of die hard fans you’ll find most Americans who watch boxing are from the groups that contribute to the beat boxers here, Foundational Black Americans, Mexican-Americans, and Puerto Ricans. And those fan bases typically don’t intersect, they tend to be fans of only their fighters. When Eddie hears talks about Garcia and tank having “two fan bases” that’s what he is talking about he just doesn’t want to mention FBAs as a fan base but he knows they exist because that’s who he wanted to get from
obc when he first came to the USA. And I would also tell
you this, FBAs don’t even follow boxing as much as you would think, far more into football and basketball. They follow more than white Americans who often like to pretend boxing doesn’t exist and tend to be more interested in mma.
in short, boxing is a niche sport on the USA. If Americans saw the coverage boxing gets on any sports and how it is reported in the news and how my fitness gym in Salford has a picture of Crolla on the wall, they would be shocked.

I get what your saying. I do understand boxing isn't as popular in America now. But given the size of the nation and the purported expertise of these promotional companies, they should be doing better. If Madonna and LeBron James buy the ticket, it's up to the promoters to make sports fans, boxing fan's again. And to go back to Kambosos. 40k+. How many of that were Haney fans. Zip. It was all Kambosos lot. Do you think Boxing is a big sell in Australia? The answer is no. The. Most popular sports are, rugby, both union and league, cricket, and Aussie rules football. Boxing is down their pecking order also. Their shows sell, sometimes in the hundreds to maybe a couple of thou. Emperor George done 40k+. Not to be sneezed at.

Question is, was it opened up to seat 20k that night? Davis did what, 15k there? Either way, for a non title fight, he pulled em in. Still dont change my opinion on networks splitting coverage. As for $ split, idgaf but Davis should have the monetary advantage.

No, it does not, unless that's closer to his natural weight. I remember back when Mayweather was in his prime, his fighting weight was close to his walking around weight..
