I just watched a Chisora vs Pulev 2 fight replay. Now i was rooting for Chisora, i like him ever since he became a decent guy. But i thought Pulev won, but i don't know anything about scoring. But the fact that 2 judges scored 116 - 112 but each one his own way, thats mighty strange and the very least would garant an investigation.
Can you please help me understand how scooring is done ? Does each hit count the same ? Meaning hit to the head, hit to the body ? No matter how strong it is ? And you just take all hits from both fighters and give the round to the one who did more hits ? And if someone is knocked down, the round is 10 - 8 instead of the usual 10 - 9 ?
A side question ... if indeed each shot counts, wouldn't it make more sense to throw many light shots instead of powerful ones ? You can throw many jabs using the same energy you used for 1 big hook and chance to KO someone is not that big. Plus when fighters clinch, wouldn't it make sense to go cat paws on your enemies ? You know, like touch his cheeks as many times as you can, to get as many points ?
