So, he put on 70+ lbs??? That's A LOT of weight for a guy who fights at 160, but I could be wrong.

I'm glad he's back in better spirits and looking to continue his career.

That's a lot of weight 70 something pounds, and a lot of incredibly major DEPRESSION, he needs to seek professional help.
I don't see LaManna doing much more, except becoming Cornflake for other up, and coming fighters in the sport of boxing.

True- a lot of depression. I'm hoping that he's sought professional help by now and well enough to do what makes him happy. He seems to be getting into promoting so, he can still channel his energy for the sport in that way in the future.

I actually do hope he gets into a different aspect of the sport, training, corner man, or something like that, I don't know if he has the chops to be a promoter.

Having the "chops" is one thing, but longevity is key here. He's been stopped a few times in his career, so I'd imagine he would put more energy into promoting. I mean, it's much safer, right? He's done the hard work as far as getting in the ring, but it's also a good thing he has other things going for himself.

Let me explain about what I mean about chops, I mean to say I don't know if he has the necessary knowledge, and financial backing to be successful as a boxing promoter.
There is no doubt that Thomas "Cornflake" LaManna has poured his heart, and soul into his career as a professional boxer, and he deserves all the credit in the world for that.
We should always have a plan B, and C, in life, but it sounds like to me that he wants to keep on pursuing his boxing career saying he wants to get his feet wet. Alluding to he plan's on fighting again after that, then possibly again, and again, and again, this a sure way for him to leave this damaged, and no one should want to see that happen.

Cornflake is from the general area where I grew up, he's had a helluva career compared to most fighters. He finally got the biggest fight of his career and was blasted out in spectacular fashion pm national TV. I imagine that's hard to deal with and fueled the depression.

As for his future in promotion, I think he can probably do well. He's from the Atlantic City area and despite his relative abilities was able to land numerous televised fights and even a title shot. No doubt he has connections and can promote alot of the smaller cards to the local casino venues.

                  War Cornflake!

This!! Even if he mainly promotes club shows and gives local fighters an opportunity to further their careers and can grow his own that's a huge win for everyone involved. Besides the AC market should be a sleeping giant that boxing needs to see revitalized.
