Comments Thread For: Hearn Says Thurman, Not Eubank, Is Top Target for Benn: We've Got The Money

Eddie Hearn remains confident that he can land a top assignment for his swaggering charge Conor Benn. Hearn, the head of Matchroom Boxing, has been vocal about finding an elite opponent for Benn, the hard-hitting welterweight charge from Essex, England, ever since Benn starched Chris van Heerden inside two rounds in April at Manchester Arena in Manchester.

Let's be honest no amount of money is making that happen, unless that manaditory situation plays out ... boxing.

Couldn't just stay quiet and get the fight signed. No doubt it won't happen now .

This obnoxious carnival barker just referred to Benn - Eubank as one of the biggest fights of all time. Tells you all you need to know

“I think it’s a sad moment in the sport if you can’t mention fighters that are outside of your stable,” Hearn told iFL TV,” Hearn said. “We should always be looking to fight the best, and Keith Thurman is one of the best 147-pounders in the world. I’ve spoken to Luis DeCubas, and I’ve mentioned to him that we would like to fight Keith Thurman.”

You can mention them all day, but at some point, you have to be able to make the fights your clients need and want! Good Luck with that! Would rather see Thurman fight Boots or Stanionis! Those should be easier to make! MAN UP!

Thurman/Benn is a good fight. If Thurman wins it reinvigorates his career, and Benn will obviously be looking at it as a step up.

I'd say it's a solid 50/50 fight. Who would have even dared to think that 2 years ago?

He's going to be saying Thurman's name right up to announcing Benn vs Julius Indongo or some similar bull****.

Thurman's promoter doesn't work with DAZN. Thurman's promoter doesn't send his guys to go fight on DAZN. Thurman isn't fighting on DAZN.

Hearn may as well be talking about Colby Covington (UFC) as Benn's next opponent.

Wonderful name but hasn't thurman been retired longer than Pac has? In fact the Pac fight was last time he fought whilst Pac has fought since..
might be easy work for benn

Keith fought Barrios earlier this year, so you're wrong on this one.

They have the Money? Getting Keith in the UK is a high priced proposition. Any place else, and Hearn will get outbid for peanuts. The statement is doubtful, Sky got AJ, Warren got Whyte. Eddy doesn't bid to keep costs low. Andy burned him for 20 mil, and the billion disappeared. Saudi money?
