  • Comments Thread For: Zurdo Ramirez On WBA-Ordered Fight With Bivol: Time Is Right And I Will Be Ready For It

Gilberto 'Zurdo' Ramirez could not have been more thrilled when he received the news. It's been two months since the unbeaten Mexican southpaw secured the number-one contender slot to fight for the WBA light heavyweight titlist Dmitry Bivol, with both posting wins one week apart in May. The waiting game ensued before the WBA formally ordered the mandatory title fight on Monday, with both camps now given until August 10 to reach a deal.

Good fight. However: Beterbiev will have to go Fanlong (IBF), Smith (WBC) & Yard (WBO). I don't think he will fancy Smith and he knows if unification is not next, Bivol is fighting Canelo and he will have Smith. So I think we see the B v B unification next. Again, a good fight.

Intriguing, been catching up with, The zurdo, he has a good chin and a high work rate, this could easily be a draw, bivol is the smarter fighter. I'm looking forward to this one.

Why do you think beterviev would not want smith? Could be a good payday in the uk and I certainly don't think beterbiev is afraid of anyone.

I hope Bivol is up for this fight and will take it.

Ramirez is tough, seems a bit limited but he puts pressure on. It's not easy for Bivol, and Ramirez could scupper plans for undisputed fight.

Even if Bivol had to lose, the rematch with Canelo is still there for the future. This is probably a better fight anyway, Bivol-Ramirez.

Don’t usually make predictions but Bivol is gonna let this fight go longer than it needs to because of the trash talking. I see this going no further than 8 and this dude getting jabbed to death until bivol catches him with a counter when he telegrams one of his hooks. Zurdo has wasted all this time, hasn’t stepped up comp, and hasn’t steered away from having the same exact fighting style put in front of him. He ain’t ready for this kind of boxing mind.
