Am I the only guy who thinks that Sturm can beat Hopkins?

I think Hopkins would be to quick for Strum, and that Hopkins would win by UD.

not just too quick, but too powerful. we never saw if sturm has a chin because dlh isn't a big puncher at junior middlweight. Hops would give sturm a boxing lesson and then start to bust him up in the later rounds, i think it'd be like eastman

just cuz sturm gave dela hoya trouble, you say he can beat hopkins, you are mistaken, sturm is just a kid he is a straightup fighter with a good jab thats all. i dont think he can do what Tito couldn't

I love X and I think he is the #4# best but Ive never been 100% on him. People talk about 20 defenses but who were they against. I think what Floyd has done maybe even more impressive. He got a title like 16 fights ago and is still undefeated so that is like 16 defenses but they are against better overall comp and in 4 divisions and he will probally be moving up again soon.

Hopkins beat mostly bums and fought a couple of them 2 or 3 times. He has only 2 significant wins and they were against Tito and Oscar who were both in only there second fight at 160 and we all know that Oscar didnt belong there so there is only 1 good win he has. Now he beat Tito fear and square but he was still the bigger man then and Tito started at 147 and Oscar at 135. He always calls out littile guys but never moves up. I wouldve loved to see him fight Calzaghe, Jones, Tarver, or even someone like Lacy now. We assume he would beat Lacy but how do you know that Lacy's power wont be too much for the smaller Hopkins to handle. How do you know that fighting these bigger guys, we wont see Hopkins hurt for the first time. You criticize other guys for being hurt and say that Hopkins has the best chin but alot of guys got hur when they move up. There were so many top fighters at 160 back in the day and he never fought any of them except for Jones which he lost. He shouldve been moved up instead of calling smaller guys cowards because they wont fight him. The same goes for Zoo. I think if you want to truely be #1 #4# then you have to move up in weight. You can stay at your weight but sooner or later you have to move up. Now he's talking about moving up but against who, Glen Johnson, a guy he already beat?

Now thats why I like Sturm. He is like a big middleweight. He is tall and has nice size. He would be the first big guy who I have seen X fight in a long time and I think his style and jab would give Hopkins fits. I would pick Sturm in the upset, while Hopkins would look like a frustrated littile guy

DLT my friend when did u ever think u were alone, DLH gave hopkins some trouble in there fight and dont say he didnt cause hopkins said it himself, sturm had no trouble with oscar at all zero noone. taylor wouldnt be countering sturm cause sturm wouldnt be the agresser i guartnee u sturm will use his agility and make hopkins look old and slow. dont under estimate sturm.

I would think so too, but Sturm has looked a lot bigger recently than he has in the past, and his last two fights have ended in KO 3 and KO 2. I'd still go with Hopkins winning, but I'd bet that Sturm would do better than most people would think.

I've gotta ask. I'm dying to know, SturmRules. Is Sturm your favorite boxer? I give him credit for being very good, but I don't understand why he would be anyone's favorite. I can understand why other people like boxers who I may not think are the most entertaining to watch (Hopkins, Floyd I'm looking your way) or those who I don't like because of their mouth (Toney that means you. Yes I know I am a *****, please sit down) or even those who were great but now are a shadow of themselves (ahem....Tyson). But Sturm? I want you to sell me on Sturm. What is it about Felix Sturm that gets you all pumped to watch him. I'm not making fun (well maybe a little), I want to know.

HAHA.what!? It went to decision, you make it sound like he breezed right thru him, he fought an effective fight, kept oscar out of range with his jab,thats it,not a single bit impressive, if anything LACKING, he fought a fat oscar, Hopkins fought a far more in shape Oscar and he KO'ed him.I dont know if Strum is a good fighter or not, his performance didnt intrest me enough to look into more of his fights, so maybe he is good,but that DLH fight cant be a reference point for a "good performance".

Hop is too crafty; and dare I say dirty for Sturm. Hopkins can beat you in a number of ways. The guy just knows how to win fights. He can out muscle you, out box you, out foul you, etc.
