Comments Thread For: Rahman Jr: Jake Paul Made The Worst Mistake of His Life in Choosing Me

Heavyweight contender Hasim Rahman Jr. has rejected claims that his sole motivation is money when it comes to facing Jake Paul. Last week, Rahman Jr. officially replaced Tommy Fury as Paul's next opponent - in the main event slot for Showtime Pay-Per-View on August 6th at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

I totally agree. rahman jr is not some basketball player or tommy fury. alot of people think:"oh, he´s not a serious prospect or contender". and they are right. his potential is about mid tier level heavyweight, probably not even gonna crack the top 100 on boxrec. but if you think these are weak credentials you would be right.......if he were to go up against a real contender/prospect. but this is not the case. look at the experience factor: paul had no amateur career. his "pro career" in reality are a bunch of toughmen contests. rahman jr. has a nice looking record as a pro, but that was against journeymen boxers. and as an amateur he fought some of the he didnt exactly excel, but he was in with names like trevor bryan, stever geffrard and nick kisner. when a toughman faces a well schooled mid level heavyweight..........that has HOSPITAL for the toughman written all over it.

What weight are we talking about this fight happening at? If its 190 or less I wonder how the weight cut will affect a heavyweight even a small on. He isnt used to cutting weight and I somehow still believe JP can pull out the W call me crazy but its possible

Yeah, I'm convinced this is staged now.

Might as well join his brother in the WWE

Not to mention having Michael Hunter as a sparring partner for years. Hes got experience against really talented fighters and years of it. Jake Paul on the other hand...

It might happen. Morrison just stopped him and Rahman is a lot better than Morrison, he could have won that fight easy
