On affects of Watson II:
"I was just getting behind my jab and targetting the body a few times a round. It affected me for five years.
"I wasn't thinking about (a) left hook to the head, (or a) left uppercut. (And) I wasn't thinking about throwing myself into punches and combinations.
"It was just get in, get out, cash the cheque and bank it. Put on the show to keep the people watching.
"I wasn't happy. I was too lonely and immersed."
On Joe Calzaghe fight:
"I underestimated Joe (Calzaghe). I mistakenly had him down as a bully and didn't expect him to be as hard as he was.
"I did lose a large ammount of weight in a short period prior to the fight. But I thought I could beat him on heart alone.
"To be honest, I had such a new lease of life that it made up for it anyway and allowed me to hold my own in there with a future great champion."
On Calzaghe knocking him down:
"I simply didn't see that shot coming! It was a hard shot and he hit me with some harder shots later on.
"He was a southpaw and I wasn't preparing to fight a southpaw. The match was put together late.
"He had very fast hands, an awkward stance and a difficult style."
On Joe Calzaghe:
"His last fight against Roy Jones Jr was, I think, the most entertaining fight he's had.
"By far! I want to see some more of that? Don't you? I'm sure he'll fight again.
"He needs to! To go down as a truly great fighter in history he has to prove he can accept defeat, not quit, and, if he can - come back and win.
"He's dished them out, but not really taken a beating yet. That's what Joe needs to be thinking about!"
