    Comments Thread For: Broner-Figueroa, Gutierrez-Garcia, Puello-Akhmedov : Showtime Tripleheader August 20

Adrien Broner and Omar Figueroa Jr. have a date, a site and a network for their previously announced welterweight fight. BoxingScene.com has learned that Showtime will broadcast Broner-Figueroa as the main event of a tripleheader August 20 from Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida. Broner and Figueroa announced on their social media platforms last month that they agreed to box, but they initially indicated that they would square off July 23 somewhere in Chicago.

They finally found a person Broner has a chance at winning against, but if Figueroa of old shows up then Broner may lose for hopefully the final time and then he can go off to prison or some other form of rehabilitation for his bipolar disorder.

Omar took a very violent nasty beating in his last fight, scary even. I wonder what he has left if he has the will at this point

Omar has been bad last couple fights. All those benders caught up to him. Broner hasn’t beaten a decent fighter in several years. Really an embarrassing main event relying on Broner name value. Should be an opener of a tripleheader. The sad thing is the other two fights are really good. Just the opponents are unknown.

You know these guys are on the slide when it's a crossroads match down here in Florida. Neither guy has had significant win in years. Whoever loses this one might as well just pack it in or be a gatekeeper the rest of their career. Should be a fun fight along with the rest of the card.

Is this fight at 140 or 147?

I wonder Broner can even make 140 anymore? Is he still being trained by his dad? Bad move. Get a real coach.

Sounds like a big gathering for a “who cares” moment.
