Ok. Ok...so Canelo is 31. What is the wrong side of 30? 31? Then what is the right side of 30? 39?

A career welterweight being 44 could not knock out a cruiserweight amateur. I'm ok with that tbh. This kind of win will not obliterate Mayweather's legacy, believe it or not. He can get knocked out by a 12 year old, it won't matter for his legacy anymore. Love him or hate him, but his legacy is now cemented in the annals of boxing history.

I'd put it in a different way. I'm a semi-Canelo fan and I like Ryan.
Canelo is a very good boxer and Ryan is an OK fighter.

The standards for greatness are high now

we were recently spoiled in the previous era

You had Floyd who dominated fellow greats and very good fighters

and then there was manny who could destroy greats and very good fighters

Alvarez isn’t on manny level let alone Floyd’s

to me Alvarez is a modern day ODLH. Guys on the shallow end of great. Their greatness comes from winning enough important fights and hanging with the best throughout multiple weights

I’d rank Alvarez higher if he regularly won his big fights decisively. He has many could have gone either way matches

Canelo is a special boxer. I was a fan before the Matt Hatton fight. I've my own critiques of him. Overall, a solid B fighter. I don't give any As for now. Juan Francisco Estrada might be the only one that enters my A- sphere in all boxing, and been so for a while now for me. I wish he retired a little earlier.

Women's boxing is different. Katie Taylor is the epitome. I've to give an A grade here. Kudos Katie.
