No doubt that it was the mob-boss Michael Kinahan that made the charges disappear ; I always wondered how Josh Taylor made drug possession just disappear from the record, now it's clear to me why the charges were dropped.
Tyson over rated? Not in the least. Decades ago I read a biography on the man and if you’d led anywhere close to the life he had to endure who’s to say you wouldn’t have ended up worse? When Cus went, then Jimmy Jacobs and then finally his last Manager Bill Cayton who King fired, scum bag King saw a vulnerable young man and took him to K street.

King set him up for the fall. He enabled his depravity. He cut Rooney (which mind you I firmly believe Mike wouldn’t have lost a bout with Rooney). King places him in camp with two unheard of nobodies, Snowell and an insignificant. Douglas fight Mike had been partying all the night before (another Mike eff up but I wouldn’t bet the bank that had he had his same people he’d have been prepared). During the fight the corner doesn’t have a cut man or enswell!!! What Promoter/Manager doesn’t place their unified champion in the care of the best and most expensive in the champ’s corner!?!? NOONE WOULD. It was rookie night in Mike’s corner. Then to hear the instructions from that cornerman Snowell? GTFOH. I wouldn’t let him in the corner of an amateur let alone the baddest man on the planet.

Mike is his own worst enemy but was contained mightily by the people his old management team placed him with. That was purposeful. Had King never worked his way in I’d bet Mike would have went on retired undefeated.

King is the worst scum in all of boxing and has been his entire life

The one issue I’d take with McGuigan’s comments is that the first fight was “reasonably close”. It really wasn’t, and the scores were a travesty.

That being said, I think it might have been Catterall at his best, and Taylor at his worst, and I’d expect to see a much better Taylor next time round (albeit his trainer being a real question mark).

There are many accounts of what occurred, literally dozens of articles, news stories, biographies, Tyson’s own words and historians far more intelligent on the boxing game than both you and I. King is, has been and always will be a two bit hustling crook. Mike was already a millionaire many times over long before King.

There a reason why Tyson, Ali and Holmes all sued King. Convicted of murder, stole from a hospital, rigged fights, bribed Ali, Stole from Holmes, phuked over Witherspoon. Shall I go on?
