OK, maybe I chose my words unwisely. Although I am not a British national, I did serve in the US Air Force for 2 years at RAF Lakenheath. Of course there are going to be people split all over the world. To clear any confusion out there, Floyd is much more popular in Britain, than is Marquez. Floyd was a villain there leading up to the Hatton fight. That fight broke the hearts of many Brits I spoke with, and it seems their attitude now is: If you can't beat em' join em'!Prior to his fight with Hatton, Floyd was unknown to non-boxing fans. Since that Hatton fight, his profile has grown in the UK. would he sell out an arena in the UK for a fight against a non-brit? probaly not, but get a good few thousand would turn up and watch him.
The does seem to be a lot of intrest in Mayweather's return on few Everton football forums I go on. Many thinkin Marquez to beat Floyd.
Floyd Mayweather Jr. will defeat Juan Manuel Marquez by TKO by round 10. Probably on cuts or accumulation of punishment. I do give Marquez credit for being the warrior he is. I don't think it's outside the realm of possibility for an upset, and I know he won't quit or give up. I just think he is outmatched and I think the reach issue will be very important in this fight.Comment

yeah there isn't really that ever present air of animosity towards mayweather in the british boxing media that there appears to be stateside and it's reflected in the fans. i think most people respect him and quite a bit seem to like himComment

I agree with this, We do respect the man ability and we generally speaking will follow people who earn our respect.OK, maybe I chose my words unwisely. personnally Floyd actions Since he came back has ruined any respect i had for him as a person and i will never support the man again. Doesn't mean i don't respect his ability's i just think he's a chicken**** who has repeatedly shown how yellow his liver truely is.Comment

Mayweather is a punk!
I have no idea how people could ever support a fighter who embodies everything that is wrong with modern Boxing.
I respect Arturo Gatti more than Floyd, not because he is dead but because he fought like a Champion regardless whether he was less talented.Comment

High numbers? There were like 4 British blokes singing it.
Im British and I want Marquez to win. I respect Floyd as a great fighter though.
