Golovkin Stops Canelo – Canelo Past His Prime

It looks to me that Canelo is past his prime. He went on that run at super middle weight, and he just took too much punishment, too many training camps, too much wear and tear. And then he just got a terrible beat down by Bivol. We've seen the best of Canelo.

Meanwhile, Golovkin has been preserving himself, just stopped a man who had never been stopped, let alone dropped. You have the perfect storm for Golovkin to turn the applecart over and push Canelo and his career six-feet under.

Adios Canelo. Puede él descansar en paz

hes not past prime although he might now be mentally broken but that remains to be seen. his 'prime' coincided with him facing his easiest opposition. when he lost to mayweather there were excuses, when he lost to bivol there were excuses. put him in with the trash like yildirim, saunders, plant fielding etc and i can bet he will look like 'prime canelo' again with all the movement and combos. put him in with someone with half a boxing brain and he will look like a mexican plodder again

He’s not mentally broken. He’ll come in hungry vs Golovkin, but theirin lies the dangers and gives Golovkin his best chance to beat Canelo. If Canelo loses to Golovkin, then his confidence is done.

Yes. Very true. But I hadn't seen Canelo take such a beating before. Bivol beat him up real good. Just the look on his face the first time he ate a right straight from Bivol said everything. And that was in round two. At the press conference, he had to hide his face behind giant sunglasses. But even that couldn't hide the hematomas on his forehead.

We'll see, but I have a feeling that Canelo's confidence has not only been shook, but his body is slowly breaking down. Sometimes, all those punches to the head don't show the true effects until months later. You see it in the form of slower reflexes, not being able to put the combinations together like before, things like that, as if the brain is moving through molasses. I guess we'll find out, but I have a feeling that this might be Canelo's hardest fight against Golovkin.

people are trying to sell this lousy trilogy. The Asian guy was piecing ggg up to the body before the DAZN execs told his corner he is messing up the fight

Yeah. It's absurd. Where's the reporters asking him what specifically he said after the fight? I would like to hear his answer to that.

I'm picking Golovkin to win this. Golovkin looks juiced! I believe him when he says he knows how to beat Canelo (maybe because he's beat him twice in my book lol).

I don’t think Canelo took much punishment in the Bivol fight tbh. I think Canelo got more wear and tear in the GGG fights. But his confidence might be at an all time low

Yeah he has his game plan but when someone shuts it down he doesn't adjust. Years ago I thought Canelo had the dog in him like a Maidana. I truly believed he would bite down, bull doze and risk going out on his shield against Floyd. Instead he gave the entire fight away. Shameful.
