Avanesyan just knocked back a bigger fight. This is more along his recent track record.

Avanesyan's career choices are just bizarre.

Vergil Ortiz Jr vs David Avanesyan reportedly off, Michael McKinson likely back in against Ortiz
Vergil Ortiz’s manager says David Avanesyan never sent the contract back after agreeing to terms.
          June 8, 2022

Vergil Ortiz Jr vs David Avanesyan was reportedly all but a done deal for Aug. 6 on DAZN, an intriguing welterweight fight between a rising star and a veteran on the best run of his career, but Dan Rafael reports that the fight won’t be happening, with Ortiz’s manager Rick Mirigian says Avanesyan wouldn’t sign the deal.

          From Rafael’s report:

“Golden Boy did everything they wanted, accommodated their every crazy need they asked for, and Vergil even kicked in some money to help make the fight. They agreed to the deal and then never would send the actual contract back.”

Hopefully this means Avanesyan has something going with Keith Thurman??? If not, then I don't understand why he wouldn't fight Ortiz Jr.!

Mendy/Berinchyk is an interesting matchup. I like Baraou, good young fighter and glad to see him get a shot at the Euro title, I think he beats Saidi

Avanesyan ducked that Vergil Ortiz smoke.

He's as big of a chicken as Conor Benn.
