Appreciate the reply and totally respect your view on the matter. I've had to learn to walk again and have broken enough bones and tore enough stuff over the years and in certain instances still had to try and operate anyway (with varying results) so you obviously make a valid point. But it's not just "people" it's Joe Smith himself and Joe DeGuardia. To quote Joe "Somewhere during the second round, I was injured and was in a lot of pain." Then DeGuardia stated " in the second round, he sustained a broken jaw." And ESPN's story opened with "Light heavyweight contender Joe Smith Jr. is headed for surgery later this week after he suffered a broken jaw in his 10-round decision loss to Sullivan Barrera." I know people often make excuses but I don't take these guys as "my costume was too heavy and my Olympic Gold Medalist World Champion Hall of Fame trainer spiked my water" types. I even kidded with Sullivan when I met him one night and he acknowledged he had broken Smith's jaw. So whatever the case actually was I just though it silly when Smith's resolve came into question based on a certain interpretation of a statement he made regarding the Vlasov fight. Congratulations on your victory Saturday night.
ALL due respect to the warrior Joe but NO…I mean, THINK about what u are being convinced to believe: You REALLY think a human jaw could be BROKEN and a man could take punches on it round after round without showing UNREAL PAIN? I mean, just SPRAIN your ankle..not break…and then try and walk on it normally. YOU CANT.
But a human jaw is going to be BROKEN and still a man is going to actually take PUNCHES on it time after time, round after round without being able to close his mouth properly and he’s going to deal with that INHUMANE pain???????
Come on now. You can’t just believe what people tell you in regard to situations like this
