Well, Bivol already beat the guy Beterbiev just fought ( getting a huge credit for that), so I am not sure what are you talking about.

I think you're right. He's in a position to make a lot of life changing money from the Canelo fight and he won't want to jeopardise that. He'll take a safe fight like Buatsi probably in the meantime. If he beats Canelo again only then will be make the Beterbiev fight
