The fact that SOME people find every excuse to not give them respect is amazing, especially when they come form the same bottom 1 %. I bet every NBA owner was born into a family whose grandfather was a poor broke S.O.B who managed to use his God given talents to butna franchise which his grandson now controls. Kudos to him!
Floyd came from a family of boxers

Mark Cuban, before selling broadband enterprises had no knowledge on how to acquire an NBA team. Until he did.
LeBron is part owner of Liverpool FC.
Jay Z, a gangster rapper is part owner of Brooklyn Nets.
JLo is part owner of the Miami Dolphins. I highly doubt she knew anything about owning a pro team.
Will Smith owns a % of the 76ers.
Justin Timberlake is part owner of the Grizzlies. Usher is part owner of the Cavaliers.

Floyd may not be able to bankroll shït but is a big enough name to interest and partner with the right people.
Would you have told Jay Z or J Lo to STFU if they had spoken about their ambitions.

You don’t need to be offended by my response.
Exactly. No different to the Spotify dude who claimed he wanted to buy Arsenal Football club. He used Club legends like Dennis Bergkamp & Thierry Henry to front the consortium in exchange for a % if the purchase was successful.

Happens a lot in sports. Just like the class of 92' at man united. 5 ex players all came together to with a billionaire to create Salford football club. Each player owns around 10% with peter lim (said Billionaire) owning 50 or 51%.

having said that the whole system is ****** if teams can’t be promoted or relegated as this closes other owners out.
There is lots to like about US Team Sports_ I love the draft system and I envy the college sports (mainly Basketball) especially march madness and stuff. But it also creates a culture of the weakest teams "Tanking" in order of getting good Draft picks and lottery.

This is where I believe relegation / promotion would be great. And it isn't like America arent big enough to have enough teams to maybe have a 2nd League/ Division. The onus is on play offs a lot, so lower teams have nothing to play for once missing out.

J-Lo isn’t an owner of the damn Dolphins, she doesn’t even own a seat, that’s how much ownership she had lol Same goes for Nelly, Justin Timberlake, and Usher.. they don’t possess any legitimate ownership stake.

Mark Cuban made much much more money then Floyd Damn Mayweather.. he purchased the Mavs as the MAJORITY owner..

Alex Rodriguez legitimately owns the Minnesota Timberwolves, he & his business partner Marc Lore will be the legitimate majority owners within two years time.

At least know what you’re talking about, DAMN.

There’s a reason I specifically said you don’t need to be offended by what I wrote. All you had to do was correct me without being salty or triggered.

More important, your example of Rodriguez just proves my point. He is no different from Floyd.
And whatever Jay Z owned, it doesn’t matter if it was 1% or 50%. It was his investment. What’s your anger about?
