    rewatched Marquez v. Diaz

This fight reinforces the reasons why Floyd picked Marquez to return to boxing. I'm not hating on Floyd nor Marquez but lets be real about this; Floyd is obviously a great businessman and realized that Marquez would be suspect when fighting him. He saw that Marquez didn't adapt to the weight at 135lbs and therefore at WW he would be too green to pose any threat as long as Mayweather check hooks Marquez ala Hatton.

Breaking it down: Weight-Mayweather, Height-Mayweather, Reach-Mayweather, Speed-Mayweather, Abilities- Mayweather, Counterpunching- Mayweather, Ring Generalship-Mayweather...the list goes on and on...what does Marquez have that can actually pose a threat- Will and Heart...that sounds nice but in the ring with someone with all those other attributes over you only surmises an ass whoopin.

The fact that Juan Diaz, who possess far less pop than Mayweather, was able to connect with a hook and it shook Marquez doesn't sit well with me. You can't build muscle on the nerve running across your chin and Marquez' head movement is very minimal in a fight. I read on another site that he stated he moves his head to not get hit but Diaz was tagging at will in that fight.

I don't see anyway that Marquez will win this fight unless he throws a hailmary punch and connects, which is highly unlikely. At first, I was going to say that this fight goes the distance but even as the fight approaches I have Floyd connecting with a KO or TKO in this fight probably around the 8-10 rd.

Anyways, as always I try to be as non-biased as possible and as much as I loathe Mayweather's shinanigans I never underestimate his talent. This is a fight that only Mayweather will lose if Mayweather doesn't show up, other than that he should have this fight on the lock and looking forward to the winner of Pacquiao v Cotto.

I re-watched the fight too. Marquez is finished as a fighter no matter who he fights. His reflexes have severely diminished. If Juan Diaz had any power at all, I think there would have been a different winner in that fight.

Good assesment. I don't think JMM gets stopped, though.

Is it me or did Marquez also look a little bloated like he ate his way up to 142 lbs. He was far more toned out in his other fights and now carries bulk on his love handles. What's up with that?

From my understanding, JMM ate a bit to bulk up.

Marquez got hit a lot by Diaz and Diaz bearly hit Malignaggi. That is not a good sign but I still think Marquez got a lot left at the elite level in boxing but not at such a high weight. He should go back to 135 after this fight or trie 140.

Them Quale eggs must have carried a lot of cholesterol and fat...lol. Didn't anyone tell Marquez to eat egg whites and not the yolk.

I am watching it again now, JMM waited till Diaz tired. He will figure Floyd out patiently because Floyd will not pressure like Diaz did.

The JMM loss hurt Diaz mentally; totally different fighter- too timid now
