Lucas Browne of course tops the tree. Nash out.
Sarcasm aside, it's ridiculous to think boxing is the only profession that's above having bums.

Uwe Boll is the laughing stock of Hollywood.
The 2nd coming of Ed Wood.
There are too many so called singers and actors to begin to mention.
      We cheerfully called them bums.

Why aren't they protected like a 2-24 boxer is ?

When a person picks a career path, let's say boxing, do they aspire to be a 2-24 guy or a Mayweather guy ?
Who are their ceilings and why ?

Boxing fans are full of shlt when they get all hoity toity.

A lot of fighters choose to be journeymen. They get paid a lot better than you’d think, I know lads who’ve been paid 5 grand for 4/6 rounds on late notice.

If you’re good enough to go the rounds, you can fight 25 times a year at around £2000 per fight maybe more. Half the time you’ll just be babying novice prospects who don’t know wtf they’re doing anyway. You don’t have to sell tickets to get paid, your travel/expenses are generally covered by the promoter.

There’s definitely journeymen in this country who if they wanted to could go and win a domestic title but they realise there’s more money just staying on the circuit. It’s essentially a business decision to become a journeyman for some fighters.

After taxes. camp costs and medical bills, though

Perhaps getting punched in the head is all a guy can do.
