Maybe 164-65. It's in his best interest to retain as much speed as possible as he wasn't the most speedy to begin with. Of course everyone has written off Triple G in this fight but I sense another close fight. I don't think the judges will be that generous to Canelo anymore. Don't underestimate Triple G's ring IQ . Everyone is predicting a Canelo KO over GGG. Triple G has a granite chin. Those EXACT same people predicted Canelo KO'ing Bivol too. In my observation, I truly believe Canelo has slipped badly as a fighter since his Triple G fights. I wasn't impressed with any of his b.s wins over the Brits , Kovalev and certainly be looked absolutely shot against Bivol. Don't be surprised by another very close fight or even a shock win for Triple G.
He's not going back to 160. It would be ****** to go up, even if not all the way to 168, and come back down after, especially at his age. He'll see how much better it feels to not have to cut those last several pounds.

Not saying G wins this fight by any stretch of the imagination, but 168 might do his body much better. Plus Nelo is coming off of a nightmare Cherry Pick. Just wish it was 5 years earlier. Real question; does Nelo go see his Daddy Bivol again?

Glad to see that there are some folks out there that are logical and could see through the bs

BINGO!! Garcia should have been seeking Tank and Jo Jo, not the guys they beat and now Munguia is pulling the same crap! Speaking of crap, if GGG were to somehow beat Canelo and then retired right after, Munguia would probably crap all over himself over not being able to have the revenge "honor".

It would be justified in this instance, though. Win or lose, GGG still holds the WBA/IBF MW titles.

Can't blame the kid for going after the big money fight (for him). But if he (and GBP) had been willing to take the risk in acquiring a title from any of the other belt holders, he'd have more of a case to call out GGG at 40. Otherwise it's a bad look for a young gun to avoid the stiff challenges nearby (bad look = perception of being a protected hype job).

Nice deflection from addressing the main point raised by the post - which is about Munguia and Munguia’s delusional belief that GGG has any interest in fighting him. . That’s never going to happen. Munguia should have lost to Dennis Hogan- and both he and GBP have been terrified of taking any chances ever since.

From the optics, it looks bad that instead of trying to fight who he thinks would be the winner in Canelo, his only goal is to fight an ancient GGG or some scrub like he is fighting tonight.

All of these Mexican fighters seem so disingenuous pretending that they give a s**t if any of them loses. Neither Ramirez nor Munguía shed tears over Canelo losing to Bivol or GGG in the rubbermatch. Both of them would simply love the opportunity to step into the spotlight beating the guy who beat Canelo. Similarly, Canelo doesn’t give a s**t if any other Mexican fighter loses. He’s just playing up the nationalism to build his fan base.
