  • Mayweather is figuring Cotto

As far as I can see it, the only reason that Mayweather didn't make weight is that he wanted to preserve as much power for a showdown with Cotto. This guy Mayweather like him or not, is the most disciplined athlete in the world, no way he misses the weight unless it was deliberate. I think he's figuring on Cotto beating Manny and knows he'll have to face him and he'll need as much pop as he can get.

You sure have a good imagination lol.

What makes you think he's so worried about the winner of the Cotto-Pac fight just yet ?

What Cotto does in EVERY fight is about a thousand times worse than anything Floyd did here. Who cares if Floyd weighs 146 today, when he's going to weigh almost the same as Marquez DURING THE ACTUAL FIGHT, if not less. Cotto comes in at 160 for welterweight bouts, which is really cheating even if it ain't technically against the rules.

Well,it's a pretty legite excuse,I mean floyd fans never run out!!I guess they can't see that floyd doesn't give a **** about anything but floyd & his 0!!This tiny welterweight has got to have every advantage up to & including weighting more than contract!!Better than Ali,huh, hahahahahahaha!!Nope, not even better than Calzaghe, baby!!

            who cares about the rules?

Anyway, to the OP: Mayweather retired twice to avoid Cotto. The only way that happens is if Cotto and Mayweather lose(hard to believe mayweather could lose to a lightweight). then maybe Mayweather will get his fire and competitive drive back. He hasn't had the will to fight the best for a long time.

First of all Floyd is going to destroy Marquez so maybe this would be better discussed after the fight. In any event Floyd and his camp with "Roger's" statement "why wouldn't we do business with Cotto" is already contemplating that Cotto gets past Manny. But even if they're not sure, "IF" Cotto wins, he's the next greatest thing and by far the biggest payday that Floyd can get, by a wide margin over Shane. And Floyd sure as hell don't give a schit about 600k, he's already thinking past Marquez and a possible Cotto matchup. Hell he didn't even look dry at the weigh in.

I 100% argee, but Floyd is also aware, as he's expressed, that he is not given "the credit", sp he's aware of the legacy issues. Now he might state that it's because of race etc, but he's most definitely aware. If Cotto wins what is Floyd going to do? Retire again?
