This is one of the problems with participation titles and belts all around. Tomaguchie didn't get a million dollars, why should Cortina?

Joe bought the title cheap and wants to sell it dear. He wants to fight in Cardiff, forever, too. Hometown miracles don't fly in the big city.

Valdez' purse was $375 and 30% PPV share for around $500K. I think those were pre-fight estimates, so not sure if the PPV numbers raised or lowered those. At any rate, I think Cordina probably needs some grooming before he gets anywhere near $1 million guarantees.
I don't think it happens next. Cordina will be built up in Wales for maybe another 2 fights, then Stevenson in a stadium fight next summer. And Dazn will pay well for that fight. Your thinking of it from Shakurs side where he isn't a big sell. This fight makes more in Cardiff 2 or 3 fights from now. Joey will fight Rakhimov next to clear his mandatory. Then maybe Zelfa Barret, then on to the unification. Unless Arum tries to get it sooner. But if he gets his way, Shakur will go to 135.

Honest, you don't have to look far. Jono Carroll can take him.

Princess syndrome after first meaningful victory... And already talking about selling his ******ity. Although, I still prefer this than him talking about legacy, like all the others.

First of all, I don't think Cordina has much of a bargaining chip, he has the IBF title - notorious for making you fight mandatories against people nobody knows about (next up being Rahikmov), you ain't gonna get money there as he's got little to no fanbase. If you fight Shakur, you will get your title taken real quick and you won't gain it back.

              Best options (ranked) for JC:

              1. Defend against Rakhimov, showdown with Leigh Wood in Nottingham or London or Josh Warrington in Leeds or Cardiff.
              2. Defend your mandatory against Rakhimov, move up and fight against Maxi Hughes, then chase a big fish fight - Haney, RGarcia,Loma.
              3. Go right into a Shakur Stevenson fight at MSG or the O2, lose your title, then go back and face the domestic scene for 3-4 more fights.

A relitively easy way for Joe to pick up another belt might be for Eddie to match him with WBA titlist Roger Gutierrez.

You're living on another planet if you think Shakur Stevenson is fighting on DAZN.

We'll see. Stevenson has said he wants it. Bob has let fighters fight on Dazn for unification before. So yes I am on another planet, from you anyway, cos god knows what one your on, but I'm on earth, in the real world.
