Comments Thread For: Naoya Inoue-Nonito Donaire II: Stats & Stakes

By Cliff Rold - Can they do it again? While the result was little in doubt when the final bell sounded in 2019, what happened over the course of twelve rounds left an impression. Naoya Inoue may have won as many as nine rounds against Nonito Donaire to unify a pair of titles and win the World Boxing Super Series. Those nine didn't come easy. Inoue battled through a broken nose and orbital bone, scoring a knockdown late and proving his grit and chin were as potent as the offense that had dazzled since nearly his debut.

That was a very entertaining fight despite it only going two rounds. Inoue really is a monster

Inoue's left hook that hurt donaire sounded so hard it seemed like it split donaire into 2. That guy has dynamite.

Nonito thought he was the one with the advantage using the puncher's gloves, those small cleto gloves really helped Inoue.

Was not expecting Donaire even at his age to get wiped out like that. He never recovered from the first KD, turned it in to a firefight hoping his size and power would carry him through and Inoue just ran him over.
