So if a fighter unifies all the major belts and then vacates but stays at that weight is he still undisputed or does he need the belts to be undisputed?
What say you lads

It’s ****ing ****** but you need all the belts to be undisputed. If another guy has a belt it’s not undisputed.
As far as I’m concerned, “Unified” today is just as good as undisputed. There are too many belts to reasonably win, let alone hold onto, given network conflicts, marketability issues, etc -
Agreed that it's no longer undisputed. If you vacated, means you ducked that guy that was mandatory to prove you were the best and now he has a claim to the titles, or a dispute. Whether the rankings are ****e or not, if you refuse to take on the top ranked contenders to show you are the best and ditch the belt, you can't be undisputed anymoreComment

You're no longer undisputed. If you could do that, then we would have never heard any arguments about Teofimo not being undisputed. (He was undisputed in my eyes, btw.)
There of course is the issue of the Ring Magazine Belt, and that no one could be lineal champion unless they beat you. So there's that.Comment

I dunno really. It is all a bit messy. I am happy when there is a consensus 'man'.
Tyson Fury is the 'man' whether or not Usyk splatters AJ and then takes out whoever else afterward and continues to defend 3 versions of the world title. Fury is the man until he loses or retires.
I know Fury is linear too but I am not into that either. Banjoing the man once with no comparable body of work can't make them the man either, surely?
In short. F.uck knows. This is why we argue about this sh.it isn't it?
I am happy with Shakur Stevenson being the man at super feather already. Can Joe Cordina dispute that? Well by definition he can because he has a strap but in reality he can't. He can't turn around and say I am a better super featherweight than Shakur. He would be met with eye rolls.Comment
