Golden B Promo honest, Thats BULL!

When Oscar and Bernard came together after their fight and announced they are to form a promotional banner that would have the boxers in mind and look out for the fighter mentality, allot of people breathed a sigh of relief and spoke of how Oscar and Bernard were here to help boxing advance. How wrong can we be...

Recent developments in the Jermain Taylor fight break down suggest the real deal with Golden Boy Promotions!
a decent purse of 1.5 million dollars is offered to Taylor, this is fair, but then Golden Boy Promo want a three fight option.
How is this fair considered Hopkins, one of the participants in the fight, is a co - company owner? Isn`t that saying if Hopkins were to lose he`d have direct say in who Taylor fought next, probably himself in a rematch!

If this is the way Golden Boy promo conducts its business then i feel shame for Oscar and Nard. And i feel that they let down allot of people and....oh hell, they LIED to the people, the LIED about their intentions. This recent business move was straight out of the Don and Carl King book of "keeping business in the family"!

what are you talking about??? A lot of people sign deals like that. And if B-Hop gave Taylor a chance and lost it would be only fair if Taylor gave him a rematch.

      Sources?

Whoa, whoa, whoa! GBP is asking for options? Are you sure? You must be pretty connected to the inner workings of the Taylor camp to make a statment like that. I strongly believe that GBP will be a difference maker in the world of boxing in the positive sense. Hopefully they will take the lead in bringing back boxing to network TV and take care of the fighters. Like Oscar said, "The boxers are my boss". I hope that remains the case. Give GBP a chance before jumping all over them.

No, no, no. You're getting Oscar and Bernard all wrong. They are doing this to protect the fighters from being with other promotional organizations that would rip them off. Once they see how loved and cared for they are they will realize that they want to stay with Golden Boy. How cynical some people can be!

Nope its true, I was going to make a thread about it myself. Oscar stated time and time again they will not treat fighters unfairly and taking advantage over them and then I read the article where GBP sat down with DBE and discussed a possible matchup. GBP says they will give Taylor 1.5 million dollars to fight Hopkins. IF they would receive options. Didnt GBP claim they would never do this?

However, Taylor wants this fight bad and said he would gladly sign if they gave him more money. I imagine Hopkins would get paid 3 million about the same he got for Eastman and Taylor could get 2. If thats the case it would be wise for GBP to shell out the extra money now and **** him later type deal, why not they would have already did it in the first deal to fight Hopkins right?

Id pony up the dough and give Taylor his demands...If he beat Hopkins imagine what a rematch would be like? Plus a possible bout with Trinidad.....Bad move on GBP side if they dont meet Taylors demands.

NYC-This may be the gameplan of GBP to see how great they are, but when all of the other promotional companies are gone they will turn evil, GBP is the Walmart of Boxing...It's true

Lou is possibly one of the best and most truthful promoters out their.

I am holding out hope though that GBP does turn out to be a positive force. But I'm not holding my breath. The above sarcasm was meant for humourous effect. But if this is indeed true and they are asking for options they are doing the same crap that everyone else is doing, trying to make as much money as possible. You can't do that and look out for all your boxers best interests at the same time. ESPECIALLY when one of the partners has a say in who he gets to fight through his own promotional agency.

How would he screw Sturm? Sturm is becoming wasted talent due to people not wanting to fight him. I like Sturm a lot but someone has to fight this man he deserves another shot...I mean he did beat the Golden Boy and still cant come up with a credible opponent.
