not to mention the millions of dollars he can make?

    not realistic.

hopefully he gets compensated some more money from floyd for floyd not making the weight.
i realise that alot of time money and effort has gone into the event, but obviously mayweather didnt look at it that way. i mean if a contract says 144, then u shud weigh in at 144 or less. i mean where does it end? ok this time it was 2lbs, what if he had of turned up weighing in at 150 or 155? i say id of cancelled the fight because from marquez's perspective, hes already moving up enough pounds. marquez could in theory still get a payday by refusing to fight anyway because mayweather breached the contract if it was at 144. I just think that its not acceptable to be able to just pay your way out of an agreement. I think a more acceptable punishment would be for mayweather to have a point or 2 deducted before the fight starts. because a fine isnt gonna hurt floyd as much as taking sum points off. jsut somethig to think about ?

it's the same **** like when Corrales & Castillo fought the third time, Castillo couldn't make the weight but still needed the fight, he lost some the purse, no title on the line and Corrales accepted the fight to his disadvantage--if you train hard & see you can't make the weight what do you do? kill yourself like ODLH & come in so drained you can't defend yourself, lose the payday or weigh what you can, accept the fine & go out & make some money? Corrales knew Castillo was heavy & took the fight just like Marquez knew & still accepted the fight. It's not even that uncommon in the pros, Camacho Jr. does it every other fight. It's up to the other boxer to accept the fight & the extra money & take care of business. Marquez did so just calm down already & enjoy the fight..

A boxing match is scored based on what happens inside the ring-the fines are sufficient. **** outta here. Have you ever fought? There are no special rules for anybody, Floyd included- either the fight is cancelled or the event goes on & fines are levied to the offender... Deduct points before the fight starts?--you must be out of your rabid-assed mind...

btw, not making the weight isn't cheating. if it happens that you cannot drain any more weight off your body for the weigh in, then either the fight gets cancelled or a fine is levied or both. Yeah, in training you know about 4, 5 days ahead if you're gonna make weight but it's not doing something to give yourself an unfair advantage in the fight like loading gloves or taking performance enhancers. It's part of boxing & there are allowances for such a situation in the regulations.
