I think it's a combination of self promotion and overall love of the game.

1st and foremost ; Hopkins obviously loves having his name and face out there. There's no shame in his game.

But secondly, he really does love the sport and I can't count the times I've seen him ringside cheering for someone or jumping out of his seat, shouting instructions at whomever he wants to win, etc....
