Comments Thread For: Naoya Inoue - Reboot

By Cliff Rold - Fighter's primes are a tricky thing. They feel longer these days, largely because everything takes longer these days. In an era where someone getting in the ring three times in a year is celebrated, how can it not? Fighters do age less violently with less fights and more recovery. Even if fighters don't actually stay young longer, they age together. It extends today's and holds tomorrow's in the wings.

Inoue showed his championship mettle fighting through all of the damage that Donaire inflicted upon his face.
This rematch should be one hell of a fight, although they'll have both made adjustments to there fighting styles for this fight.
I believe that Inoue will win their rematch probably with less wear, and tear than their first fight, but he won't come out unscathed.

WoW! Naoya Inoue's career went by quick didn't it? Broke records and all but it seems that COVID did his prime wrong when he came to campaign in America, the John Riel Casimero fight for the lineal title at bantam never materialized, what a shame.

I mean I guess, Luis Nery was a drug/weight-bully and a fraud who lost the WBC title on the scales, then John Riel Casimero only upset Zolani Tete just weeks after Naoya Inoue met Nonito Donaire in the WBSS 118 finals.

So the lineage at 118 was in a way determined on a Thursday ( November 7, 2019 ) but this time its ON A TUESDAY -- I think we getting too deep, sht I'm talking might be too true!

As soon as Top Rank got a hold of Inoue his opposition level went into the toilet.

This should be a great fight. Cant wait to see the monster and nonito go to war again. Either could win, but im predicting a late stoppage by the monster KOing Nonito in the 11th.

What a wasted career. 22 fights in 10 years. Skipped straight past super fly where all the sharks were. Best wins: Maloney and 37yr old Donaire. Inoue would have been roadkill for a prime Donaire. Top Rank is where careers go to die.

Oldschoolfool, the man is 29 & in his prime. Yes, its possible he may regret a wasted career but, OTOH, he may put it all together now. He still has 3 or 4 years to be special. Is Top Rank at fault for his inactivity? Yes, possibly, but Covid-19 didn't help since for 2 years Japan has been isolated from the rest of the world. I honestly hope & believe that we will see some explosive wars from Inoue in the next 4 years.

Not the same Donaire. Only prayers can save him from Inoue who is in his Prime. Praying for Donaire's safety.
