Funny, all this talk about golf. I like the game myself, it’s very difficult to play well, but I’ve always felt that people of a certain background are often pretentious in taking up the game on more than a casual basis. It’s like taking on airs. I certainly don’t mean to imply this is true of everyone, but I find it to be very common. It may not be true of Canelo either, but “I’m a multi-millionaire now, it’s time to act the part” seems to be in the air.

He's a slick boxer, not much of a puncher but reasonable.
He's going to have to outbox the big powerful heavyweights, but to be fair, there aren't many. He's a bit bigger than say, Floyd Patterson, who moved up from middleweight back in the old days.
Outside of Fury and to a lesser extent Usyk, this heavyweight era is poor.

Sanchez isn't the most marketable HW out there, but I really do think he's a darkhorse fighter who is going to surprise when and if he ever gets a marquee fight. He's not a big HW by modern standards but he's not tiny either and he can crack a bit. I would argue that he might be the best pure boxer in the division after Usyk. People will no doubt disagree because he hasn't acheived all lthat much yet, but I think he beats Wilder, Joyce, Dubois, Ruiz Jr. Uncle Luis Ortiz, AJ, Whyte and Parker right now. Tyson Fury is probably the only guy I would confidently pick to beat him. Usyk vs Sanchez would be a purists dream fight, but you'd have to give the edge to Usyk.Last edited by NachoMan; 06-02-2022, 01:42 PM.CubanGuyNYC likes this.

I was a big canelo fan you know that but I can't support a fighter who says he loves golf more than his own sport the sport that gave him everything. At this point I don't mind seeing ggg, charlo or Benavidez take his ass out. Then he'll see how those old golf ****s only care about him when he's winning in boxing.
Honestly that's why I lost a lot of respect for Charlo because he seems more concerned with money and fame and celebrity than building a legacy.
We live in an era with too many boxing celebrities and not enough boxers.
And the fans are to blame too since they always talk about what celebrities are at the fights, how much money fighters are making, how many PPVs they do.
I don't care about any of that stuff. All I care about is boxing.
It's part of why I stopped liking Floyd too, he sc****d by on natural talent. But 100% short changed his potential. Nobody cares about your fancy European clothes, ***elry, cars.
