Question about title belts

Howcome fighters keep title belts they had to vacate? Like floyd would have 5 WBC belts.. they dont make you give the belts back? or do u get to keep them if u vacate or what??

u get to keep the ring belt if u defend it once. the organisation titles im not sure about, i know floyd never defended some of his wbc belts so i guess its not the same.

Nah man, the sanctioning body makes them for you, that's what part of the fees are for.

For example, say Lamont Peterson beats Tim Bradley for the WBO strap. In the ring after the fight, Lamont will parade around with the belt and take pictures and so on. But the thing is, when they go to the locker room, he'll give the belt back to Bradley as it is his forever; he just won't be looked upon as the champ anymore. It's like a momento. Then, Peterson will wait until the WBO make and send him his own strap, and the cycle will continue.

It's the same thing for The Ring belt too. I know JT's Ring belt has his name on it, so it's obviously not the same one Hopkins had.
