Comments Thread For: Salita: Ergashev Is Ready To Fight Taylor, Prograis, Any So-Called Elite Fighter In Division

Shohjahon Ergashev's promoter is sure that the heavy-handed southpaw is more than ready to face elite-level opponents within the junior welterweight division.

I like Ergashev. But I feel like Salita is a broken record. I like Salita also. But I've just not seen him hounding these top fighters to try to get them in the ring. Or hounding the next tier of guys, to try and put his guy right up there, breathing down necks. Antuanne Russell head just beaten Postol. Where is that quality of opponent on Ergashevs record? And he's been around longer than Russell. Time for Salita to stop to talking and start hustling.

Glad Ergashev is back!!! Regis Prograis...MAN UP! Hopefully the IBF orders Matias vs. Ponce ASAP! I don't understand the hold up? Gary Antuanne Russell and Brandun Lee should be ready to step too! LET'S GO!!!

Russell has a solid win against Postol but needs to push more often and step up more every time but he is miles ahead of Lee and Ergashev as far as competition goes. It's time to see them all try and move the needle.

It would be interesting if the Ali Act was modified to include a prohibition on promoters having exclusive network contracts.

Make the networks compete to buy the best fights. Instead of letting a few promoters monopolize the airwaves.

I think Ergashev beats Taylors ass. But I think vs Prograis, my gut leans towards Prograis.

I wouldn't say "miles," because Postol was not the same Postol that fought Crawford, but he is ahead of them!

Ergashev is a very bad dude. I can’t wait to see him when he gets a shot at a belt. I’m guessing Taylor will avoid him like the plague (not because he is scared or couldn’t possibly win) because Taylor is looking for big money fights and big name opponents. Ergashev not as well known and is a straight killer in the ring.

I think I saw this guy around the first time I saw Bivol on showbox, and thought he looked very good.

I'd like to see Alexander Bes***** vs Josh Taylor for undisputed at 140. Bes***** is the real deal. Ergashev has similar athletic qualities though. Inoue vs Ergashev would be a good show if they were closer in size.
