Anthony Joshua: Strategy for Usyk 2 is trying to have a gameplan

“This is the first time in my career I’d say we are specifically working on a game plan,” said Anthony Joshua about his rematch with Oleksandr Usyk.

“I’ve based a lot of my success on raw ability, but the raw ability wasn’t enough, so now I’m going to try out this game plan training and see how it goes. I plan to go back to the basics and take this guy out,” said Joshua.

Well he had a specific game plan for Ruiz and won every round . When A.J has a solid training camp in sparring he’s also near unbeatable ,I think you’ll see it in this fight . I’d still actually urge him to get Otto Wallin just to have a secure quality line up or Zhang Kossobutskiy .these guys are the best southpaws outside Usyk currently .

Good ole fashioned, blood force trauma.

That will be the game plan.

Solid jab, and heavy bombardment from mid-range. If Joshua can, he really needs to learn how to wrestle on the inside and tie a fighter up.

If he had this dimension to his game, he could really disrupt and even if he is not landing on Usyk? Joshua will be making the fight extremely uncomfortable.

As I have stated before,Joshua for a super heavyweight struggles to fight a good big man fight. A big man fight is the typical style that all great super heavyweights fundamentally master.

Solid Jab, wrestling on the inside, tying a fighter up, pushing them about, using rough house tactics here and there, straight concise punches. Joshua seems not to be able to do this 'Not to a expert level anyway'.

Usyk is a unprecedented talent, but I honest'y don't think past great super-heavyweights would struggle with him. There is no way, Lennox Lewis or Wladimir Kiltschko would be out boxed by Usyk 'Because they knew how to fight a good big man fight'.

I think Joshua's game plan will be to unleash his mid-range offensive capabilities at maximum intensity. Combined with a solid jab. Neither fighter can fight on the inside, and Joshua's mid-range offense is superior to Usyk's 'So that is where Joshua needs to force the fight'.

The entire first fight was a battle of long range warfare, and this is a area of fighting where Usyk is superior to Joshua.
