Yeah it’s poor choice of opponent for Smith but admittedly there aren’t that many options. I’m tempted myself, was at the Wood-Conlan fight last year and it was one of the best fights I’ve ever been to, love Nottingham Arena, think it always generates a really good atmosphere.

Really like Clarke-Spelman. Alberto Ruiz is decent as well for Gafai. Cully’s opponent isn’t up to much. Hopefully Allington is just a warm up before a better opponent in a British defence when Dalton headlines in Sheffield.

Reckon the Board would’ve been hesitant to accept Allington? He did win the English to be fair, but his record looks shocking.

I think the English title makes him credible enough for the board to sanction it. As you say, if Smith’s back out in following few months I don’t mind him keeping busy with another defence of the British title.
