I’ve heard Kownacki was offered 7 figures but over multiple fights and that was the stumbling block. Matchroom tend to structure their deals that way, that’s why Parker, Povetkin had to go and fight Whyte after AJ and Takam had to go fight Chisora after AJ. You essentially get paid over two fights.
I think the plan was to have Kownacki vs Chisora then Kownacki would have been used to fight a guy like Wardley or something.Comment

I can understand not wanting to sign up for multiple fights, but damn, I don't see him making that kind of money with any other options out there coming off back to back losses. Think he'll probably regret this

I’m surprised he never took it. Unless he’s Wilder’s comeback opponent maybe.Comment

Two Matchroom shows in the pipeline:
- August 6th in Sheffield. Dalton Smith headlining and then Terri Harper and Kid Galahad returning. I think this will be a next gen type show or whatever the DAZN equivalent of that is.
- Sep 10th in London I think not 100% sure of the site but that’ll be the return of the vulture of 147 Conor Benn.Comment
