The star potential of Boots Ennis

Boots seems like a nice fighter. He’s been doing what he’s supposed to do against the opposition they have him in with.

Being a superstar though isn’t all about talent. Charisma is necessary. Listen talent goes a long ways. And because successful boxers usually have their worshippers they will get a following. But to go to the next level you need charisma. Floyd has it. But you look at the list and a guy like Crawford doesn’t. Spence is not as horrendous as Crawford but he doesn’t have it either. Tank seems to have some but not enough.

Boots has zero charisma. Like what the **** was that interview after the Clayton fight. That was worse than even Crawford or Andre Ward’s interviews. I don’t see anything special about his talent either. He is really basic. Seems like he excels at timing and picking his shots. But what about when he faces a guy like Spence who has great punch selection AND has tremendous volume? I don’t see this guy turning into a superstar.

The majority of fighter don't have charisma, and that's another reason boxing is dying, guys like crawford and spence wanna do there talking in the ring, which is cool but it doesn't make the casuals pay attention, Ali didn't originally talk and do all the show boating when he first started boxing, but he realized that he had to get people interested in watching him, and the only way to do that was to be loud, and say he was the greatest, these current fighters aren't motivated like that
